rafting is a great method of exploration, relaxing and just plain fun.  idaho has some of the best rafting around.  from day trips to multi-day excursions.  deep desert canyon rivers, high mountain alpine streams and several that offer both depending on what section you are on.

class I through class VI and plenty in between.  you don't have to be in idaho to find it, but you can easily find it in idaho.

rafting outside of idaho is also great, but honestly no one in idaho has ever told me they wished they lived closer to some river outside of idaho.
