this is the selway

we drove through a snow storm over the pass.  we launched in a constant drizzle that lasted almost 24 hours.  the 2nd day was total cloud cover and the last two days produced abundant sunshine.

the water was crystal clear and seemingly green.   the cedars, pines and shrubs were green.

the selway is a river not to be missed by anyone who loves floating rivers.  it is even better than anyone can describe.

at the 3 foot flows i experienced on my first trip the river was moderate by river standards.  waves and rapids were big, but not pushy and they were very forgiving.

for experienced boaters who are comfortable on the boat they are rowing the selway will not be too much river for them at these flows.   it will be an unforgettable trip.
