need a shuttle? Karen Kidd (406) 821-3560
got a selway permit?
want some support to get your group down the river? then you are at the right place. we know the river, the camps and the sights. in addition to the kitchen we will also provide and carry all of the gear required by the forest service. all we need is an invitation and 3 spots on your permit. we have discovered that many permit holders benefit from taking advantage of our experience. we can assist in all aspects of planning from shuttles, food, itinerary, etc. what's more....we don't bite! there is no charge because we do this simply for the love of floating the selway. we will share equally in any group costs to which we are a part. its about as win/win as can be. don't be shy.
just drop us a line at jed @ restwhenyoudie.com. (remove the spaces between "d @ r" to be "d@r" i dislike the spam from "clickable" links)
equipment we can provide
information we can provide all of it! we can assist you in planning every aspect of your trip. we have a personal gear check list, sources for gear rental, ideas for meals and how to transport them down the river. we can give you directions to paradise and tell you exactly what to expect when you arrive. we can lead you down the boat ramp and through the rapids. if you can follow our line then you too will likely arrive at the bottom of the rapid, right side up, still in your boat and smiling until it hurts. just remember that we are not here to run your trip. we are only here to help ease the logistical burdens and make your trip more enjoyable for all participants. there are many ways to enjoy a river trip. we will offer advice when requested and help you be safe, but we will leave the decisions up to you. one phone call or email and a significant portion of your essential trip equipment will arrive on schedule, be transported down the river, set up and stowed each and every day of your trip. how easy is that?
please note that we do not typically carry passengers or your personal gear. on rare occasions we make minor exceptions but people who need gear and passengers transported down the river really need a outfitter and there are many outfitters to choose from. our aim is to get invited on trips during the prime floating season by making trip logistics easier for groups who are otherwise self-supporting. give us a try and see how much easier your middle fork trip can become!
